1.11.3. Requirements for fuel octane number

GENERAL INFORMATION

For all cars, except on what the engine with a double top camshaft is established the gasoline which is not containing a tetraetilsvinets, with the minimum octane number equal of 87 [(R+M)/2] or 91 should to be used.

All cars on which the engine with a double top camshaft is established should to use the gasoline which is not containing a tetraetilsvinets, with the minimum octane number equal to 91 [(R+M)/2] or 95. If you cannot get gasoline with such high octane number, it is possible to use gasoline with the octane number equal 87 ((R+M]/2] or 91. However in this case engine capacity will be reduced.

The oxidized gasoline

At some filling stations gasoline on the basis of ethyl alcohol, methyl alcohol or trimetilbutilovy air though they can be called differently is on sale. Use of fuel of this kind is not recommended, if only you are not sure that its structure suits your car.

Ethanol

The mix of 10 % of ethanol (ethyl alcohol) and 90 % of the gasoline which is not containing a tetraetilsvinets, can be used for car filling if its octane number is not lower than the recommended.

Methanol

Do not use the gasoline containing methanol (methyl alcohol), for car filling. Use of such gasoline can cause problems with operation of the engine and lead to breakage of some important elements of fuel system.

Trimetilbugilovy air

The mix of 15 % or less trimetilbutilovy air and the gasoline which is not containing a tetraetilsvinets, can be used for car filling if its octane number is not lower than the recommended.

Prevention

If you have problems with operation of the engine and consider that it is connected with type of used fuel, try to pass to other fuel.
