11.13. Back drum-type brakes

11.13.1. Brake drums

GENERAL INFORMATION

Drums and blocks (on inserts – greasing places ZM ATD 8634 hermetic (in the center) and SAE J310 NLGI N1 greasing)

Removal and installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift a back part of the car.
2. Remove wheels.
3. Remove a drum, having pulled on itself.
4. If the drum does not give in to removal, reduce blocks for what remove a cap in a brake board, disconnect the regulator lever through an opening in a board, and rotate a regulator asterisk.
5. On a part of cars the drum can be removed, evenly wrapping bolts
М8х1,25 in special carving openings.
6. Before installation of a drum expose an initial gap between blocks and a drum (see subsection 11.13.2).

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check internal diameter of a drum.
2. Check ovality, compare to standard data.
3. The manufacturer provided the maximum increase in diameter of a drum after polishing (owing to development and unevenness of wear) if this diameter after polishing is exceeded, a drum replace.
4. Replace a drum at detection of cracks on external and internal surfaces, and also about openings under nuts.
